AAN...it begins
Today was the first day of the Association of Alternative Newsweeklies convention, held this year in downtown Portland. Matt Gaffney has attended this convention for several years. This is the first year that I'm able to make it there.
We're part of the trade show. There's a booth set up for Jonesin' Crosswords (and MG's "Psycho Sudoku" syndicate), complete with samples. I was only able to attend the first hour at 1pm, and there was a very small crowd milling about. We're located about midway, across from booth with a columnist called "The Bitter Single Guy." BSG was absent, but I can't wait to see who it is. Other booths are set up for columnists and cartoonists.
Tonight, I'll miss out on the after-hours party (due to a deadline that I gotta meet), and I can't attend the big part of the trade show, the Friday 9-5 session. However, I'm going to the Friday night parties, and the Saturday trade show. MG's actually here until Sunday night, so I might do some day activity.
